Fire Doors – Licenses
Course Overview
NFPA 80, Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives requires the annual inspection of fire doors to meet local building, fire or life safety codes. NFPA 80 compliance is required for accreditation by The Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and to receive Medicare reimbursement. Many insurance companies also require NFPA 80 compliance. This course will provide you with the information you need in order to perform these mandated inspections effectively.
Learning Objectives:
The student will receive instruction on performing the functional and visual inspection of fire doors as mandated by NFPA 80.

Overview of the components that make up a swinging type fire door assembly (Frames, doors, and hardware components)

Each course graduate should be able to inspect fire listed swinging type fire door assemblies to the NFPA 80 standard and produce appropriate documentation as proof of inspection.
